The small bright side to all this is that the spammers are targeting the Off Topic area exclusively. But still, it's good to have them gone. What about you Fuerve, were you a moderator on nwtekno?
I was never a mod on nwtekno, although I suppose there was a time that I could probably have asked for it. I was a mod on 206underground for a while, and I actually ran one of the iterations of that forum as the admin. I also ran a couple BBSes, way back in the day. I don't mind being a light-impact mod of a forum or two, but keep in mind that my work and activity schedule is pretty packed and it's difficult for me to find regular time to moderate. I could probably slice off some time every few days, though, to pop in and deal with mod stuff. Plus I'm going on vacation at the end of June, so there will be a two-week lapse.
I'll have to brush up on my mod skills again. I tend to want to overcorrect a bit, so I'd rather not be, like, a full admin, unless there's a clear expectation that my admin duties are constrained to mostly technical stuff (which you probably have well in hand anyway). But if you'd like, I can wear that mantle as well. It's not like there's a ton of flow on this forum, so for now at least, it's probably mostly just dealing with spammers and occasionally moving posts or something. Once you actually rig up the forum to your front page, there should be more traffic. Your Facebook comments feed seems pretty epic, so if that's any indication, we can probably expect, what, maybe several hundred legit users over the next year or two? Unless you suddenly become a breakout Internet star, in which case all bets are off.
Anyway, let me know. I'll help out where I can. But definitely take the other guy up on his offer, and make him the "head moderator" or something. I definitely can't guarantee that I will have the time and energy to take on iron-fist moderating of the entire forum.
